Re: Any Info on Russian late WW2 para's
the only specialist equipment soviet paras were issued were pilot style flying helmets in canvas (post war ones are identical) They were issued overalls similar to tank crews in tan/green canvas, but of no distinct cut. Like fallschirmjager russian paratroops were part of the airforce, so wore sky blue piped shoulder boards. All other equipment was standard soviet issue. A parachute quilification badge in brass and enamel was issued and was worn on the upper right chest.
Soviet parachute operations were small in scale, the soviets putting more effort into liasing and using partisan units which stratigically forefilled the same role. The largest was a combined operation to cross the Dnepr in sept 43. A missdrop meant that the parachute forces were cut off from the main assault, the result being a complete disaster for the parachutists. After that parachutists were used in a ground role, most notably being the first units into Prague.

No pics of soviet paras in uniform, but exellent reference site for soviet uniforms
