Luftwaffe or Gebirgsjaeger ?
I have been told that these particular Barthel stoves are from Luftwaffe survival kits. I have others that are green, at least 3, and they are all gebirgsjaeger. This I know for sure as I know where they were in 1945. Are these grey ones also used by gebirgsjaeger or Personally I have to confess I prefer the pre WW2 Barthel JUWEL 33U in brass The stove itself is excellent and will work no matter how cold it is.
Re: Luftwaffe or Gebirgsjaeger ?
Hello,
I am at present restoring my Juwel 33u stove. I have searched the usual places, and asked the basic questions, but no luck. Can you help me, with what you know about these stoves.. My main question that sticks in my mind was the addition of the U, after the model number 33.
All i can seem to see is the slight modification of the burner internals.
Any info' would be great, Thank you
Andrew

Servus Kameraden,
The Juwel stoves are really the same as the Optimus/Svea 123R backpacking stove. This design has been in use since the 1800's. You can get spare parts kits or buy a new stove for parts. Here are a few useful links:

Re: Luftwaffe or Gebirgsjaeger ?
Is not the picture of the stove at the beginning a post-war Juwel 34?

Re: Luftwaffe or Gebirgsjaeger ?
It is a JUWEL34 and I now know that it is a post war one. I paid £2 and regard it as reasonable price.
