DIY - equipment pouches ?

Post by mario33 »

I'm planning to make, with the help of Mr. 'Stadler', some replicas of pouches for ski and mountaneering equipment.

Therefore I'm loooking for somehow detailed pictures and maybe sizings of the pouches/covers/holdalls for:
- crampons (closed with small leather belts)
- ski-fellen (Ski-Slips; oval, closed with two buttons)
- pitons (kind of bag).

Berg heil kameraden :D
Try looking at the new "Deutche Soldaten" book it has many pics of equipment/pouches etc,
ive seen some pics of crampon bags elsewhere though and basically are just pale green canvas
with a zelt button and flap.
Also there are pics on this site of other Gebirg equipment bags which resemble canvas duffle bags with a string cord and apparantly were colour coded which was basically a colour cloth panel sewn to the corner denoting which equipment was carried ie: red for food, green for clothing etc.
Hope this has helped :D

Servus Bergkameraden,

That's the same bag that I have for a pair of climbing skins that I found in a flea market in Germany back in the 1980's. The bag is the same type used for spare Gasmask filters. I'll dig it out and get the dimensions.

Mario, I've found a bag ,quite similar to the one of the Seehundfelle one. It's made by Schipperfabrik.

OK...lets see if we can get the info as I will need one of these crampon bags myself!

Patrick or anyone- can you post pics and dimensions of the issue crampon and sundry equipment bags please? Sounds like there may be a bit of a market out there for these things and I now have a new pair of 12 pointers that need a safe home!
