Gentlemen,
I notice in many original photos Italian soldiers utilizing cord or string on their helmets that is passed through the air vents. Was there a specific pattern or method of attaching the cord?
Also it appears that some units, like XMAS, painted their helmets in a camo pattern that appeared to be similar to the "Normandy" pattern used by the Germans. Were there specific colors?
Thanks for the help,
Jim

No there is no method. Just try.
For the camo colors you can use the Germans. Tamyia Darkyellow or brown are ok.

Nice photos of camo helmets Berg! Looks like 2 and 3 color camo. I just did an XMAS camo helmet. Dark grey-green base with ordnance tan spray. If I can figure how to post photos I'll put a few up.

What about the cord that is seen on some Italian helemts for foliage? Was there a method of tying it on?
