Soldier with M45 helmet?
Mate send me this photo, it's originally from Steel Panthers manual. The soldier (police?) seems to be wearing the rare M45 (DDR style) helmet, is armed with M1 Carbine and generally has a very weird uniform. The shoes could be American? So, I'd like to hear your opinions, wartime, DDR or West Germany police or something else?
Here's the photo

Here you can see the shape better. The DDR helmet (M45) has a bit different shape to it...

Re: Soldier with M45 helmet?
Sorry, it seems I posted pictures of M23 while the helmet in the picture is danish M41 ![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)
Not too much difference, but the helmet there is definately danish M41.

Re: Soldier with M45 helmet?
I think his boots could also be Danish, they had a modernish combat boot already back then. I think you solved this one, thanks ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

What combat boots are you thinking of? ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

I must admit I really know nothing about Danish uniforms
, but I have noticed that you adopted a longer type of boot quite early, as seen here. But again, I really don't know the details, so you're probably right on this ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: Soldier with M45 helmet?
Yes, it is one of those very odd huuuuge Danish helmets. Though, I have heard of a story that a unit made up with NCO students at or around the Battle of Berlin fought wearing the new DDR style helmets. Anyone who knows more of this?

The Boots on your link is danish M58 boots that came in (you guessed right) 1958Pies wrote:I must admit I really know nothing about Danish uniforms, but I have noticed that you adopted a longer type of boot quite early, as seen here.
