The dimensions aren't stated in your post but it looks like a standard walther p38 holster to me. The magazine side pouch doesn't look big enough for a Luger.

There has to be a catch to this John!!!!!
Is it a Dragon Doll sized one? Sure looks like a P.38 hardshell but I have seen some that went into Swedish Service post war.......... Can we see the reverse please?

It is not a P38 hard shell,it is dated 1940,marked DLWP for Deutsche Lederwerkstatten Pirmasens, heres a interior shot
and a lot of these pistols were sent to Finland."I require able bodied men, with good horse and gun.

Aha! Then that is what it is for - the Czech P39 pistol..... made by Germany to send to Finland to supplement the 41,000 P39(t) pistols delivered to help them fight the Soviets.
Does it have a Wa stamp on it? and is it without SA Markings? These holsters are comparatively scarce but it's no surprise you have one John!

Hi Paul, yes it has a Wa stamp on it.I've had it over twenty years now, a dealer friend had it and I bought it out of curiosity and only later found out what it was for,I think its one of the ugliest pistols ever made but very interesting.John

He he! You have never seen a Dardick Pistol then....... Then of course - take your pick of Japanese pistols and not forgetting the Liberator.......
