Great event,...such a bonus after the dissapointment of the Victory Show cancellation,..... well done to all involved. Good to see a few new faces,... and nice to catch up with the usual renagades.

Battles and air displays very enjoyable,...look forward to future events at Spanhoe.

Nick Halling's Pictures are up!
As ever - he captures the most poignant portraits and the evocative moments of an event.
Some superb images of the boys (and the bangs!)

Some great images there Herr Grink especially the one of the boys in the trenches under fire....and the pic of the grenadier moving up with the burning haystack in front is awesome.

Gotta admit some very evocative images there Nick...superb stuff.

Hi everyone,

I would just like to say a BIG thank you on behalf of the 315th Historical Society.

To the Summer of 44, TFSS, Tramps in Armour and Marcus Glenn for the Artillery display. The crowd loved it, very professional.

To Paul, Stig, Baggy and the rest of the pyro team for making it happen. Keep that green laser off me!.

To Gary Allen, thanks for your help. I know I leant on you a bit. You are a top man.

To Rob & Bill, thanks for coming and I hope you enjoyed yourselves and sorry I didn’t get to spend much time with you. Thanks for the biccies!.

To all the guys that took part in the battle and helped make it what it was. I know it was short notice and we had our problems but, judging by the reaction of the crowd and the veterans it worked very well.

To all the British, American, Polish and German re-enactment groups and individuals that took time to display and interact with the public and veterans. I have had nothing but good feedback from the public and I hope you feel the same way.

To all the WVS ladies for keeping us in teas, coffees and biscuits all weekend. Job well done.

To Richard for the ever so short notice talks on the PA system, I always do it to you. You are a top man.

I hope you enjoyed the memorial service it seems it was quite a moving and busy one; I was not able to attend due to other circumstances. The air display, what can I say; even I wasn’t expecting such a display. The Dakota on Sunday was superb, standing there with James, Kate and Shelley was a great moment, thank you guys.

We hope that you enjoyed your time with us at the weekend, we had a few ups and downs as with any show but, hopefully they will not detract you from attending again (did I say again?, stop those rumours now!). We were thin on the ground with volunteers; so many people promised to help and then never showed up left us a little busy to say the least!. Another meeting this Saturday should see how much we have made and exactly how many people we had through the gates, we will also be discussing the good, the bad and the ugly bits so, if you have any comments you would like to raise with me please email (enquiries-opmarketgarden@hotmail.co.uk) or pm me and I will bring them up.

Just one other thing, thanks to all of you that laid wreaths at the memorial, the veterans were amazed at the amount of you doing this, a real sign of gratitude, thank you.

Lastly, so many people have contacted us to see how Knobby is not just the guys involved in the show but, general public and veterans too. I just want to say, Knobby you’re a true soldier and get well soon. If there is anything we can do for you, please just ask, we mean it.

Thanks again guys, your help and cooperation doesn’t go un-noticed.

All the best,

Simon & 315th Historical Society

p.s. I’m sure I’ve missed someone or something out along the way
