Ive been offered an origional Soldbuch and work book...

Post by Paulkd »

Paperwork is not my thing at all, but I have been offered an origional Soldbuch for a member of the coastal arty, it has his pic in the front, stapled in place with the two ink stamps over that to verify it.

It has his service and training records in the depot and then in France in 44, interestingly the kit issue pages are crossed out and a typewritten list of his kit issue is pasted in, he only got one k98 ammo pouch for example! In the back of the book is a POW poscard from his camp in England, so a nice record of his service. Can anyone tell me what this would be worth?

The work book (different person) is the usual with a few entries finishing in jan 45.

I did'nt have long to examine either of these but I can have another look if anyone wants me to.

pzrwest is the resident expert on coastal artillery - he may be able to offer an insight into it's details, value etc.!

The Collectors Guild has a coastal soldbuch selling for $130.00US so this soldbuch could sell for more or less. I don't know if a soldbuch would have been returned to the man after he was released from the POW camp. My uboot vet friend wasn't in possession of his soldbuch when his boat surrendered as his soldbuch was in his seasack which was stored at his base of departure.
