Robin, it's a guy called Paul Bellamy who reenacts a US medic (I think?). He's quite hard to get hold of at times as I think he has a recurrent illness or problem, so you have to be patient. His work is excellent (I have one of his WH watches bought about 3 years ago - took 4 months to get it though), not sure of current prices...

Cheers for that, how do I contact him, do I just post a reply on here and hope that he picks it up as others seem to have done?

Apologies to all for my extended absence, the old problem flaring up coupled with my e-mail failing has kept me out of touch for a while.
I'll be working my way through the backlog of e-mails and PMs, and should be up to date in the next week or two.

Current status report...

All the dials I printed in the last couple of months of 2011 have failed in one way or another I'm sorry to say, hence nothing has gone out.

Example A:



Lots of nasty lumpy blemishes on the face, some of the silvering has also failed to bond with the brass dial plate.
This particular dial was cased up in a certain somebody's watch, and had been on the test bench for a week or so before the blemishes appeared.

Example B:



The black print has failed to bond with the laquer sealing the silvered dial plate and started to lift off.
Some patchy discolouration can be seen too.

Example C:



More bonding failures, with cracking and flaking all over the place.

All these problems are due to the ambient temperature being too low while the printing and laquering was taking place.
I was fortunate to have a longer than usual "production season" in 2011 due to the extended autumn, but even with additional heating installed it is evident that I just can't keep the workshop warm enough over winter.

At the moment all I can do is ask that you remain patient and bear with me just a little longer, and hope for an early spring...
