I'll have to look as I had the pictures before my computer crashed. Gave them to Schuster so he could make me one. But it had a German officer with a Moleskin cap, 2 vents, and no officer pipping so early war..

I don't think the officer piping was introduced until 1943 so I'm curious if the photo you describe is possibly circa 1942? Some of the M42-marked depot caps feature two vents on each side. These also appear to be hybrids -- featuring the crown attachment style of the M43 and no front stiffener but still having the full sweatband and short short visor of the Bergmütze.
