I don't know of anyone currently who makes a good reproduction BDM uniform that is affordable for parents to purchase - especially considering the rate at which children grow.where would i find uniform for a ten year old girl at a reasonable price, jacket, skirt, blouse and socks daughter would like to participate as a Jungmadel in shows.
What I would do is what many parents back then did. The uniform had to be purchased and a lot of parents either couldn't afford it or refused to buy the uniform because they didn't agree with the BDM. Many girls only got the skirt or the blouse and never did get the jacket no matter how many times they asked their mom.
What you could do to be affordable is to use a regular Navy blue (very dark blue) wool (or wool blend - rayon and acetate were common, AFAIK) skirt and a regular white blouse.
The neckerchief is easily made for anyone who can sew a straight line with the sewing machine and the leather knot is easily made as well - it's called a Turk's Head Knot and instructions can be found at http://www.troop54.com/knots/TurksHeadK ... adKnot.htm .
You can get the insignia for the sleeve (the Gau triangle) and the one for the shirt and jacket (the HJ patch) from Landser at http://www.landser.com .
Add white anklets (Vermont Country store has ones without elastic) and brown lace-up shoes, and you're set.
Alternatively, you can always make the uniform at home which was also commonly done at the time. Stores sold "regulation fabric" and pattern makers like Lutterloh and ABC Schnitt sold patterns for all uniform parts to include the jacket, the white dance dress, and the white gymnastics outfit. If you can work with pattern cards, I have a full set of BDM patterns that I can burn on a disk and mail to you if you cover the costs ($7 for disk and shipping).
More information about the BDM uniform and where to find parts for re-enacting at http://reenacting.bdmhistory.com/uniform.html and links where to find individual pieces to go with the uniform at http://reenacting.bdmhistory.com/purchase.html .
