Neil,
Jim Michaud here! I'm new to the forum. Looks like a great display. I particularly like your fan club! The webgear looks spot on, where did you find it?

Hi Jim,

Good to see you on here! Anything arrived yet? Not heard from you.

Anyway, the Webbing is an exact replica, made by ourselves, on the few remains found at El Alamein late last year. This webbing hasn't been worn until now since 1942- 43. Its taken a lot of research to do.

Hi there,

correct colour pattern of WW2 italian paratroop camo helmet covers. Good to see that some don´t use postwar material.
But the "teli da tenda" ( Zeltbahns ) are postwar... :D

Very nice impression guys. I like the style of the italian uniforms and the film "Last days of Mussolini" is one of my favourite WW2 films. Rod Steiger is outstanding in his characterization of the Duce.

Hope that I can come some day to Italy, meeting italian re-eanactors, visit Monte Cassino and the grave of "Il Duce" in
the small town of Predappio.

Best regards,

Caen44.

After Monte Cassino on the way to Predappio I suggest to visit the Hotel Campo Imperatore where he was held prisoner. And the the Gothic Line as its on the way to predappio.

I would suggest to have a look at the house where he was born (was a musum once) sadly not open to the public anymore.
Today an arts museum .... ???? http://www.casamussolini.it/

The villa where he lived with his wife is a fantastic place to visit. Stayed there for hours!

Ah, but look at the dark colours of them! :D  True enough tho, post war, but closer than German troops using them Telo Tenda M1929 for shelter.
