SAKAK members should actively remind traders not to sell this stuff...Why not next time reason with him that making splinter deckchair covers from the smocks would be a far more enterprising idea

Sorry my friend, I will modify the thread. Perhaps we made a mistake. But my other products the buyers are satisfied, and said it is in high quality.'

Hi chaps, I just want to say that I am truly amazed to see that even reputable suppliers/dealers still sell jump smocks in splinter A. You would think that they would correct this "schoolboy" error. It makes them appear amateur-ish if they make this kind of well known mistake on such a well known item.

Isn't it frustrating that it's possible to reproduce splinter A correctly, but splinter B is so difficult!

And the decent ones are £150-£200!

Anyway, i'm off to go and sell one of my splinter A smocks!

Best regards, keep up the good work, 8)

With Barry Lyndon and his very inexpensive new and older smock , there is no excuse to wear the splinter A. Some reenactors just need some very respectful and tactful guidance so we can rid our hobby of this evil garment.

Flammable, hell it would be safer to wear petrol than one of those poly cotton smocks...that was gone in a few seconds

From the book of SASAK chapter 1 verse 1:

The path of the righteous FJ reenactor is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the farbie and the tyranny of splinter A knockensack. Blessed is he, who in the name of accuracy and good impressions, shepherds the farbs through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the wearer of a splinter B smock. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to reenact FJ in splinter A knockensack. And you will know my support for SASAK when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

I dread the day when I have too much to drink and wake up the next day with a splinter A smock on. (or even worse waking up next to a very very large unattractive woman wearing a splinter A smock)

I now have one of the new Barry knockensacks type 2. I did used to have a Sturm one that was sold to me as Splinter B by a certain Mr Underpant wearing individual ! I had asked for Splinter B specifically due to the problems with Splinter A and was assured that I would get the correct one. Well pissed off when the sturm one turned up as I had also got a pair of trousers and boots from him as well, but least he changed it for something else when I next saw him. He also credited me an extra tenner as he couldn't remember what he originally charged me! I know can you believe Underpants getting stiffed LMAO?.

(I've still got a slightly high sitting fj helmet though, eh Tom ? Lol)
