Gents,
A co-worker brought in a post card photograph of his uncle in the German Army. It appeared to be an early war picture as he was wearing an M36 tunic, and overseas cap. On the reverse was his name: Alfred Insekammer, 78 Armee, Pz. Gr. 177.
I haven't been able to find any information regarding the history of this unit. Any help would be appreciated.

Any chance of some scans of the postcard please.
So far as i can see there was never a 78 Armee, however there was a 18 Armee are you sure it isnt this ?

Having seen scans of this i can confirm it is 18 Armee and Pz Gr 177.
