Fallschirmjager use of marksmanship aids.

Post by LuftwaffeFD »

Hello all!

Different section for me to be normally posting in!

Has anyone got any pictures or evidence of Fallschirmjager's using marksmanship aids such as the ZF41 on a K98k set up?

I've found pictures of Luftwaffe Field Division using ZF41's so far but wondered reference Fallschirmjager's.

Cheers

Yes they did, I have seen a few photos with them and carrying the ZF41 case on their webbing. I'll have a look and scan some if necessary. I believe the FG42 also took the ZF41 scope.

hmmmm, i dont think it took the ZF 41 scope darren as the ZF41 was a side mounted scope . The common scope the FG took was the ZF4 with its appropiate mounts which then attached to the already milled rails on top.

I am no expert on the matter, as i havent studied FG 42 with scopes ( try and find a real one to study :) ) but this is at a rough glance at the make up. correct me if im wrong :)

You could be right there Tom...

Here's the FJ photo from Normandy with the ZF scope case on his webbing (the guy in the foreground)
