suitable costume for wartime events in uk?

I am looking to get a non axis costume together for the uk wartime event scene, any advice on whats best and where to get it.

Got to admit I`ve done P.O.W at times. I was lucky to get hold of an original pair of pow overalls. M43 with no insignia & low boots. Job done !
The overalls in question are a plain green colour & stamped "A gift from the American red cross".
