M38 lid colours
Does anyone have information about the official colour of M38 helmets, please? I've got one in LW blue, but a friend has doubts that blue would have been in use by the time the war started. Thanks.

Re: M38 lid colours
No blue. There is no evidence that they ever existed. All FJ helmets were in Green (early war and late war lids differed to some extent). That's the only colour that was produced from the factory. Tropical tan was not one of the factory colours either.

yes, blue was only used for field unit etc... helmets, the fallshirmjager helmets were a green colour which varies depending on the period, the desert tan colouring would have been a field repaint, and would often incorporate sand to texture it for camoflage.
