In Portugal, a large quantity of Karabiner 98k rifles made by Mauser Werke, I was just given one of these as a clearence from a private collection , are these the same worth as a german made k98, the barrell is not blued and shinney and very little pitting , in amazing condition , your thoughts please , all chicken stamped as well also it does not have a portuguese crest on it it simply says 1937 looks like it was made for portuguese army but never made it there

the rifle is marked 1937 s/42 ie mauser , obendorf was the factory but the de act cert is marked as portugal so is it german and cert is wrong or is it portuguese

It's very common for export k98s to be left shiney and not blued.

These export Mausers can make a nice collection in itself. China, Peru, brazil, Turkish and Portuguese to name a few.
