Peiper, I see you are with the LSSAH, If you check out http://stores.ebay.com/MILITANTO?_trksid=p2047675.l2563. you may find the parts for the correct SS hanger. They have lots of parts i have not checked it all out. They seem to be based in the Czech Republic.

Repro metal parts for daggers are also available from various vendors, and some even sell original Solingen blades. Given the existence of all this stuff the provenance of many daggers sold as originals is clearly quite suspect.

I'm impressed with those dagger parts from CZ,very scary,but the Czechs do make the best repro's(trouble is a lot of it is sold as real!)
Loz,the M33 SS dagger was introduced for all ranks,you then get the Rohm presentation daggers,after he was 'bumped off',those who took part got 'Himmler' presentation daggers.The hangers were a short leather hanger or for marching /or so it would not swing about when moving,the vertical hanger.

I used to have that book,the wound badges with holes drilled in them,so they could pin them to the display board good old Imperial War museum,but when that was done nobody gave this stuff any value.Years ago people refered to the M36 SS chained dagger as an officers dagger,Waffen SS officers were permitted to wear a portepee(silver knot) on their M36(you sometimes find a M33 with this as well but not official.).

That's the best I've seen so far, but the belt ring is too modern for my taste and the stitching will have to be corrected. Minor easy corrections.
