CONTINUATION WAR LOSSES

Less than 15 months after the Winter war Finland was at war with Russia Again! This time with Germany on its side. The Continuation war as its called lasted from 1941 to 1944 not only did Finland regain land lost in the winter war 39 to 40 but also Invaded Russia as well along with her German allies .

I think those figures adequately show the Finns must have had superior battlefield tactics and training over the Soviets.

The Finnish army had also 90,000 LottasThese were Female auxiliaries more on them later .Finnish army Battlefield tactics had to be better than the Russian as Finlands population was only 3,700,00

yeah the Finns certainly seemed to be able to hold there own against massive opposing forces, and there aren't many armies that can do that

Although the Finns were an exceptionally well-trained army, the bulk of those casualties were from the 1944 operation, when the Soviets attacked into the teeth of a series of fortified lines built into extremely defensible terrain, having previously declared the operation 'high-tempo' (and consequently high-casualty, like the Berlin operation).
Casualties alone are not a mark of superiority or otherwise. The true mark of that was that at the end of the 1944 operation there was still a Finland to offer an armistice.
