Sorry Kameradenssparatrooper wrote:This is the Leibstandarte not the "T" division
I got this pic from a TK pics site
Yes to the other question from kamerad Ottoss
It is an HJ pin, i might put an SA sports badge on instead
seeing it is an early portrayment, what do you reckon?

Re: 3rd SS Totenkopf
SA sportsbadge in the SS? Why not the DRL sportsbadge? I think thats more likely.Peiper wrote:Sorry Kameradenssparatrooper wrote:This is the Leibstandarte not the "T" division

If you wear Totenkopf and wand to do early, why not wear a Danzig badge, then you where a member of the Heimwehr Danzig. (they did have a seporate cuff band if you can find it and wore it together with the oberbayern one if I'm right).

Yes mate, i know you were talking about the picture
Sorry if it is mistitled
I found it along with some others from a Totenkopf Picture site
on the Net and it was titled as this, "TK Recon Unit, Krivoi Rog,
Russia 43."

Didn't you have to qualify for either the SA sports badgeSalacious Crumb wrote: SA sportsbadge in the SS? Why not the DRL sportsbadge? I think thats more likely.

or the DRL badge before being accepted into the SS ?
As for wearing the Heimwehr cufftitle or the Danzig badge ,
i don't think our group would allow it as iam with a Totenkopf Aufklarung
Abteilung group (Recon) and i think the Heimwehr Danzig were
a different Unit/group, and were a Home-Defence Unit until
joining the TK.
Even though they were algamated into the Totenkopf, im sure they
belonged to a different Battalion and only used their "Danzig" title
in the Polish campaign of 39, my tunic is an M40 pattern
(ie: French Campaign onwards) and the SS Heimwehr Danzig were
absorbed into the TK Infanterie Regt 3, where as iam part of the
3, SS-Panzer Aufklarungs Abteilung.
Also the SS Heimwehr Danzig would only wear one cufftitle,
it was the VT-Standarten Units who wore the early cuffbands
such as Oberbayern, Thuringen, and Brandenburg, then (1939)
the Danzig Unit wore their own.
Cheers, Peiper
