A book published by the naval and military press of an original manual called
Der Rekrut by Weber
is printed in German.
I have heard the same book has been translated into english
Does anyone know where you can obtain a translated copy of Der Rekrut?

I've seen someones translated handbook, and it sucks. Next to the translation errors, the translator has translated every term there was, so you'll learn read every command only in English, without the original terms available. Better is to read the original books.
Next to that, most manuals are from before '40, which makes them mostly outdated for '44/'45 reenactment. A lot (of the tactical) stuff changed in the winter of '39-'40 (because of the experience of the invasion of Poland) and in later years. Funny thing though is that in the late war books they still use some drawings from the pre-war books, including ones with the antique MG08/15
