King Tiger Trumpeter, 1/16 scale

http://www.missing-lynx.com/reviews/ger ... iew_1.html
There is a limited edition 1/16 tank coming in October. This will be an one time production item. No second run production will be made as the tooling will be modified to other versions

The turret and the upper hull will come in two versions, one in transparent and one in solid colour.

I was going to get some of these in a while ago. They should have hit the shelves late 07 early 08. Obviously been but back. Looked like a very nice kit with full internal details. Will look into them again.

Press release from Trumpeter via the Australian Distributors JB Wholesalers

Limited edition 1/16 tank due in October, this will be an one time production item, no second run production will be made as the tooling will be modified to other versions.

Clarification of "Limited edition". Current advice from the distributors is this that only the number of pre-orders received by a certain date will be produced.
This means if only for example 4500 pre-orders are received worldwide by Trumpeter then only 4500 kits will be produced, so if you are contemplating getting this kit you best pre-order it somewhere without too much delay.

They are sold by Mark-1-Tank
Made of fiberglass (GRP) in Russia .... you may like them .... I don't. Too expensive for a 'plastic' model.

There is another supplier of 1/6 scale models in the UK Armortek.
Their model is supplied in kit form and is made of aluminium and steel parts.

There was/is a third supplier in the UK .... Spearhead
But I read somewhere that this company has ceased its production run of models. The models are made of Steel lower hulls with plastic upper hulls.
